Boulders has had a very successful first year and has been of great benefit to the local climbing community by giving them an amazing facility to use. I have created several promo films for boulders and when they asked me to make a new film for their birthday I knew that I wanted to make something a little different from before, more cinematic, photographic and inspiring. Have a look at the film and tell me what you think.
The Cinematic feel is helped along by shooting with our Sony EX1 in 720 50p mode and using our Letus extreme depth of field adapter and Nikon Primes. I do favor one lens in particular, the 1965 85mm Nikon Nikkor f1.1:8. It just has and element of added lushness and amazing optics. I shot in the 50p mode and not the 25p so as to get cleaner slow mo when I over cranked the shots and I am very happy with the results.
Marc put the tune together for me and recorded it in Ableton Live, I think he did a sterling job following my vague direction. I feel he captured the mood I was after for the piece and it has come together nicely.
I topped The piece off in Apple Color to get that lush saturated look and crushed blacks.
