We were asked by Welsh Independent Dance and Community Dance Wales to run some video workshops as part of their recent training course. A little promo video all about the new Sunburst Band remix album (out yesterday, really good, 26 remixes, great value!) for our new friends at Zrecords featuring the legend that is Dave Lee AKA Joey Negro, Jakatta, Doug Willis, Raven Maize and some others. A thoroughly top man with some interesting insights into the album, amongst other things.

Created as a gallery installation, forming part of an exhibition by our good friend Dan Green in the summer of 2008, this piece visits some of Cardiff’s most colourful inhabitants.

We really didn’t manage to scratch the surface with this one – and there’s a ton of footage we haven’t used here and a plethora of characters still un-immortalised so watch this space. Clockwork

This animation was created as part of Sound Affairs’ Ludwig tour. “A tribute to Beethoven in music and film” Widelode were asked to create original work in response to the music. This piece; to accompany the Orlando Gough composition. Based on David Pelham’s iconic 1972 cover to Anthony Burgess’ classic “A Clockwork Orange”

This has been a bit of a favourite of ours and as such we’ve struggled to leave it alone; originally created in Flash back in 2006 it has recently had an After Effects HD makeover. Anyway – hope you like it.

This was created for our set in The Globe at Hay [on Wye] for their “How the light gets in” festival. Which, by the way, was a many splendored thing.

In particular; many thanks to Clair and Ricky for making our Friday night as much fun as it was. For anyone who hasn’t visited the town or the venue – do yourself a good turn and visit post-haste.

Fashion Showcase Wales 2008

Widelode were proud to be involved in the production of Fashion Showcase Wales’ autumn show for the third consecutive year. Staged at the SWALEC stadium Widelode provided live AV production services, including the creation of complimentary video and animation pieces to run alongside the live action.

The event was a huge success and raised £1,300 for Act Against Bullying.
